Welcome to the CARDA Home Page
The purpose of the California Rescue Dog Association(CARDA) is to furnish highly trained volunteer search dog teams for search and rescue; to train and promote working dogs for search missions; to support and organize tests for search dogs; and to further the public knowledge, interest and use of search and rescue trained dogs.

As members of the largest, and one of the oldest, volunteer K-9 Search and Rescue organizations in the country, CARDA teams have participated in over 2500 searches in the past few decades and have saved agencies over $2 million through the use of volunteer resources. CARDA members incur all costs including mileage, equipment, pagers, and dog expenses. We rely on donations from the community to continue supplying this vital service.
California Governor, Gray Davis, presented a State of California Office of Emergency Services (OES), Law Enforcement Division, Certificate of Commendation to CARDA on June, 24, 1999.

The OES also nominated CARDA for the 1999 National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR) State award. The NASAR Board of Directors selected CARDA as the recipient and will be presenting the award at the NASAR annual conference in Florida.
